While this illustration of the anatomy of hashtag meme relevance is based on observations of people using Twitter over time, it’s also supposed to be tongue in cheek. There’s no supporting data and this is not intended to conform to rigorous scientific principals of research. It is, however, a pretty accurate hunch and a familiar pattern to many.
