Seeking a mid-level graphic artist/web designer to support the communication and presentation of company messages and programs to employees through the use of interactive design, graphic design, content development and/or multimedia production skills.

  • Ability to turn written content into visually engaging interactive media that support business and communication objectives by executing creative design solutions that use a variety of media and interactive technologies.
  • Artistic development of a wide variety of external and internal communications for Recruiting, Community Investment, and general Human Resources materials, in both print and electronic format (PowerPoint presentations, brochures, folders, posters, banners, fact sheets, etc.).
  • Meet with clients of the communications group, and internal and external business partners, to assess their needs and determine the most effective and efficient graphic design strategy, format and technique to accomplish the client’s objectives while upholding the established brand image and language.
  • Manage existing library of communication assets, create new designs for existing templates and developing new original graphics and design elements for templates, newsletters and email campaigns.
  • Keep abreast of changing video, web and graphic design trends, seeking and assessing outside services and techniques, to keep Verizon Business’ communications solutions on the leading edge and relevant to our audiences
  • Support web projects by updating and editing HTML content, and creating, editing and optimizing imagery for the web.
  • In-depth knowledge of web analytics and analyzing web traffic reports to create actionable improvements and enhancements to further drive communication goals.
  • Conceptualize and produce visual graphic products, including integration of animation sequences, video, audio and other graphic elements for internal and external presentations.
  • Build image library by conducting photo searches, editing existing graphics, and converting media of various types for integration into print and web material.
  • Extend corporate brand into HR communication pieces; provide graphical standards, templates and guidelines to ensure consistent messaging and awareness of the employment brand.

Technical Expertise

  • In-depth knowledge of image manipulation, illustration, animation and site-building applications
  • Basic to medium Flash animation experience preferred
  • Strong concept and design skills, an excellent eye for layout, ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Must have expertise in developing creative solutions for print and web/interactive, with a minimum of 5 years professional or corporate, working graphic design experience
  • B.A. degree in design, art or related discipline
  • Must have exceptional ability to apply effective contemporary graphic/web design and compelling copy to all brand communications both printed and electronic.
  • Must also be able to work cooperatively with clients to assess their communications needs and provide graphic design advice that produces results.
  • Must be very familiar with the creative process (from concept development through graphic production), and able to manage your own time while prioritizing project requests as assigned.
  • A critical eye for details and strong organizational skills a must.
  • Experience/judgment in integrating solutions with web, video, print and other communications elements necessary.

Required Applications (PC):

  • Expert proficiency in the latest versions of graphic design software, including, but not limited to Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Dreamweaver and Flash products.
  • WebTrends or equivalent web analytics application.
